This is what I found under all the fiberglass covering both hinge pivots.

Wow. Sometimes you just gotta wonder what was going through their mind at the time....

Let's see....


I'll just do a little welding here, here, and oh over here too...

There's not enough welding to do so I'll add a big ass fender washer and weld that too!...

Perfect! Now for a little bondo to "smooth" things out....

... and after about 10 seconds with the angle grinder cut-off wheel....
