The Penske RS Spyder ran a 149.477 lap time on the second day of ALMS winter practice at Sebring. The pole time they beat was set by the Audi R8 last year. Unfortunately, the Penske factory car was outgunned by nearly a second (148.816), BY A DIESEL! Yup, Audi looks pretty good for this year! The new R-10 is SMOKIN!

I love it! Hope the clutch and trans hold up. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)
Diesels cars need all the good press they can get. I would love a nice diesel car to commute in - I hate all of the new VW's, the getta's have almost doubled in weight since they came out. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/barf.gif)

I could see the AUDI team raiding the consession stands for the french fry grease halfway through the race..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

But that would get the fans up and going to buy french fries. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

I've got an 06 Jetta TDI, and I love it. It's the best commuter car I've owned, even if it is heavier. And averaging 46 mpg combined isn't bad either.

They might well be running the audi car on biodiesel - from what I've heard it's more consistent and has less crap in it than dino diesel....

Regardless - Bio or Dino - most times it's simply a matter of what's in the tank.

We can't even get those in the peoples republic of Kalifornia. We have to go to Oregon or Arizona.

Wow, that is one low engine!!! Talk about lowering the cg eh?
Can't wait to see the Porsche and Audi in action...best part is both can win (their classes). Seeing as I like both companies, this will be great!
