I started in on my conversion project. I figured I better start it before winter gets over.
I am converting my street car to a 3.2. I had been gathering parts for at least a year now and should have most everything for the conversion. I have a few odds and ends to complete, but they should be completed along the way. I am not building a show car and am doing all the work myself. Much thanks to those who have helped me to make some decisions on this project and to keep me motivated while gathering parts. My progress is shown in my BLOG (see below) So what did you do this weekend? |

Went to Joe's BBQ yesterday and Mike Z's at the beach for lunch today. You guys are so lucky to have all winter to work on your cars while we just have to drive them. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/poke.gif)

wow, that's a really nice looking view and the background looks good too. I took my precious out for a spin towards Banff and enjoyed the mountain scenery on one of the few nice days we have had. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

I replaced the late model exhaust with the early style. Adjusted the valves for the first time with the Captain method. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/clap56.gif)
Took a lengthy test drive, car sounds and runs great. While under the car noticed the anti-sway bushing are toast, so I ordered new ones. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) The fun never ends. |

Got up Saturday, and it was -16.2 F outside. went for a behind the scenes tour of the state capitol builing, had a great local beer, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) and lunch.
Got home, put on the coveralls and long johns and went out to my unheated garage to finish up getting the tub stripped of everything so I can send it to the soda blaster and body guy. Sunday, got up, -10.4 F (warming trend!) watched a movie on Starz free preview weekend. Got suited up and went out and finished the car. She is now ready for the body/restoration shop! When I hear you guys bitch about 30 F it is pretty funny! You would HATE the weather here. On Wednesday it got to 54 F, Thursday, windy, 20s, and a foot of snow. Friday cold and windy, wind chill advisories in effect, Saturday and Sunday less wind but colder still. right now my outdoor thermometer says it is a warmer 7.5! And yet i am SOOO glad to be back in Wisconsin after years in NM and TX! Yet it was a good weekend! |

Since I have gone this way once, I do actually have the hard parts I need. Anything else I should be able to fabricate. Besides, I tend to use words like should to qualify my bolder statements. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |

I worked on pulling the head on my 944S2 and I fixed a couple things on a Chrysler Sebring 'Vert that I'm gonna sell and double my money on. Best of all, I did it in sunny 70 degree weather, not in Misery. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/poke.gif) |

I powder coated a test piece to see how difficult it was to do translucent colors. First time trying this, the piece didn't come out bad at all. I only did a section of the piece.
