i picked up a nice old grundig vw radio, thinking of installing it in the car for that classic look.
however, i have no idea what some of these plugs are. i'm especially interested in the one with the plastic cover. anyone familiar with old radios that can help? ~a Attached image(s) |

I believe the plug covers the connector for a compatible external amplifier. At least that is the way the older Blaupunkt's do it and Grundig is probably the same. You won't use it if you wire direct from the speaker connections. If you have an amp with the proper connecting cable you will connect the speakers to the amp.

I think it will operate OK without an external amp. However, watch Ebay.
