Just wondering if anyone has ever replaced the wiper motor with another (non VW/Porsche).

It kind of works in my mind if we were to find out how to mount it.

I bought a small one from West Marine, used for boats and use it on my race car. Works great up to 100MPH or so.

Why do you want a non-OEM unit. There has to be lots of OEM units available. No problem mounting them.

In my case, weight. The marine wiper weighed 4oz. I think a stock setup is heavier. Other than that the stock ones work pretty well.
