Original finish on a 914/6 set I recently worked on was cad or yellow zinc plated. Definitely not painted. Picture from the factory parts diagram. Attached image(s) |

I have a brand new 914/4 shield on a brand new trailing arm (both NOS) that is painted black. It may be that new replacements are plated, but the originals were black. Original 914/6 I don't know.
