1st will engage cold but not hot....and reverse is the same...first and reverse grind like crazy after a running the car for 20 min or more.... but cold, both engage with no grinding...the only thing i can figure is clutch cable expands from the heat of the engine...????am i out to lunch?

if you don't have excessive slack in your clutch cable, i'd just put the tranny in 2nd or third gear before shifting to reverse or first. it stops the input shaft from spinning. =-) maybe those synchros are pooping out?

i dunno much about this topic but this trick has helped me with other tranny's with tired synchros so hope it helps.
