Got Jake's video for my B-day (early) and started watching it during lunch today. This is hot! It makes me wanna get out in the cold shop & start tearing one of the engines apart just for grins (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I didn't know it could be so easy (I think) at least it looks easy watching Jake. I always thought I could do it but never had the nerve to tear into an engine with only a book. The video seems to leave nothing to the imagination.
Good job Jake and thanks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

Its still not easy and I've been doing it since I was 8.........First time you THINK you have it mastered, it'l show you who the boss is.

The next video will kick some serious ass!

As to my reference of it being easy I meant the way you show where everything is, what to look for & stuff like that. I'm sure there's things that would cause an ugly head to raise up & bite the first ass that comes along! But still, the way you present the overall tear down is really good so my bubble ain't gonna bust till I git bit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Jake's video IS really good, but when you get into it you'll find out about a few things NOT in the video, which really deals with a bone stock rebuild - valve train geometry changes comes to mind, as does minor blueprinting, clearances, machining, etc - no big deal, just beyond the scope of that video, which I did find to be excellent and a big help. Tom wilson's book was a good companion. I'll -probably buy Jakes next video too, even though this engine is done and I hope my next will be a 3.0 or 3.2.

I liked the video, but nothing beats pulling it apart yourself.

Dave, I used to work for British Motor Car in Portland way back in '73. I was one of 2 in the detail dept. so we got to drive all the new & used cars that needing preping. One of them was a Lotus Europa. Talk about a sweet car. I still remember the color was a cool candleLite yellow with black interior. Working there got me started looking at the other cars not made in America. Fun job but din't pay much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

This video wa s intended to be very simple.......Getting into alot of the math would have taken away from it as an entry level video.

The next video will pick up where this left off, and show what it takes to build a 2270 from a to z using all my parts that will be available for sale early in 2004, as we will be selling parts and not just engines!!

The upright conversion video is cool also and has alot of neat attributes. I'll be doing a blowout on them next week here on the forums!
