I now have a good F.I. to replace the Sh--ie 2bl. carb.
While I have every thing taken off the top of the engine, I thought I would remove the engine tin to powder coat them and detail the engine. The Ques. is can that be done without removing the engine?
I know there are some pretty big pieces, will they go through the engine lid area,if I remove it . Need imput! Dave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge6.gif)

It is possible to take all the engine tin off. You just have to make sure you get to all of the screws. Some are clearly visible and others are not, there are a few that have to be taken off with a stubby screw driver.

Dave,

everything can be taken off with the engine in car... but putting it back in and not screwing up the freshly powder coated pieces will be a exercise in futility.

You really have to "tweak" the front fan shroud pieces to make them fit into the car (not the little short one).

What I'm trying to say: Yank the engine/tranny. You wont scratch/dent/mangle anything this way.

Hold a engine pulling "party" and heat the garage.

Ya, yank it, but also straighten and trial fit the tin.

Then send it to the powder coaters, when you get it back it will fit perfect.

It will also be easier to install the FI with it out.

Have fun, Mark
