How many here use headlight protection film to protect their fog lights or the turn signal lens. I've been using this stuff for a while and it works really well, can't tell its even on the lens.

We cover the complete nose of the race cars with the stuff. Works good. It used to be called Helicopter tape (it was used for the leading edge of the rotors on a helicopter to keep them from being pummeled with shit). Then someon figured out it worked well on cars.. then we started masking the complete noses of race cars (people in the stands cant see it on the car). Keeps the paint nice underneath and cleans up well.

3M sells it now in BIG sheets and precut for late model cars.

JP has a freind who sells it. Its a chain of places that install it.

Let me see if JP will see this thread.

Stratplayer,

No offence but, from the angle of the pic. you posted, it looks as if your sidemarker is either installed up side down or it is a Left sidemarker rather than a Right sidemarker. As you may know, the sidemarkers are marked either R or L on the outer surface.

This stuff is real easy to work with, if need be you put a blow drier to it and heat it up a bit and it becomes very easy to work with, can cut this stuff with a pair of sissors. I made some templates out of paper to trace to the film for cutting. Once its on it stays on, but at the same time its not very hard to peel it off the lens or whatever. I bought just enough to cover my turn signal and fog light lens, I have enough left over to cover the new fogs I got coming in, I will sell this set on the car as is, with the film on them.

Sites that sells it by the sheet
