like everybody else with a website, i get hits through the 'contact us' mailto from places that claim to increase the site's visibility in search engines. today on a lark i checked one out. not through their supplied link, of course, but starting at the top level and drilling down until i found a node that worked. (interestingly and tellingly, they have -no- default web page at their domain ...)
this is the place "top--sites.com". yes, two dashes ... if you go to this link: http://top--sites.com/update.htm it will prompt you for a domain-name to "update" and it displays the current known data for that domain in their data base. naturally, i typed in -their- domain ! AFAIK it's safe... and quite the hoot ! |

but for those not adventurous enough to check it out (and i feel a little safe since i'm using a non-MicroLimp browser ...) this, verbatim, is what they have to say about their own domain:
" A spam related site that steals credit card numbers. We also traffic child pornography and snuff films. Mike sux. " and this, boys and girls, is why you must be careful at all times about what test data you use ... |
