Hey guys, I need 2 rear cores and 2 front cores to rebuild for my 914.
Since the 914 is my daily driver, I need cores to rebuild so I dont have to do all four brakes in one night. Any help would be appreciated.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/britt.gif) |

bought my new fronts from AutoZone for $33 each. Turned out to be real ATE brakes.
Autozone ATE front calipers You may not feel comfortable with autozone, but if they are real ATE calipers, and you are rebuilding them anyway, it's not a bad deal. They are already cleaned up and look new. |

The fronts will be A-OK, the rears i'll defnately need help on.
If I could afford to get the brakes built by a pro and then have them plated in deliciousness, then I would definately do that. |

Advance Auto parts has the rears available http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.as...archfor=Caliper Hmmmmm ..... didn't know a 2002 Corvette caliper would work on a 914. You guys are good at finding new applications. Cardone (A1 / Cardone) does do 914 rears. They make them all double bleeders (yeh, they drill out the single bleeders). |

QUOTE I can PM you my address, the rears are from a 74. Then comense ta Pm'n (that's KY talk for send me a PM) ************************************************************ We're gonna have fun tomorrow. I have a huge batch at the platers so I'm dead in the water until those are back. I'm going to rebuild a set of calipers and you all are going to guess how long it takes me from start to finish (that's total disassembly to total reassembly). Who ever is closest to the exact time wins a $100.00 Gift Certificate from PMB Performance. Britt has to pay me whatever he can afford (a price which will not be disclosed)... thems the rules and I'll live by them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) This will not be a fully plated and polished set, this will be a "Get'er Done" set that will have all new goodies, meaning; polished pistons, bores honed, new seals throughout, They'll work like brand spank'n new. Better than the crap you get from the mass-market rebuilders. Enter your times in; Hours, Minutes, Seconds. E.G.: 00:00:00 The closest gets a gift certificate worth $100 clams. Deal? |

OK, it's on. Britt and I hashed it out backstage. Now all we need are contestants. Sign up. I'm going to do fronts and rears. How long will it take, start to finish? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

fronts are cake... call it 30 minutes each for a pro like you.
rears... call it an hour and a quarter each. 2 x 30 min = 60 min 2 x 75 min = 150 min. 210 minutes.... |
