Can the glove box be removed withhout detaching the metal band ? I pushed the metal strap over the back of the box and began to wiggle it down. I get to a certain point and it won't go any further ?

Also, does the top of the box meet the front of the dash when it's in correctly ? I'm removing it so I can get the lock out; the lock has never really caught on the door tab.

Any help will be appreciated- a picture of a removed glove box could help explain what I'm up against....

Jim

Sorry Jim, no pics from me.
I'm pretty sure the door has to come off, and the strap has to be completely undone before it clears the box. I may be way off, tho, 'cause it's been quite a while since I've done one. I do remember the springs on the door were a pain.
