According to the PCA website, http://www.pca.org/914/SIGsiteRegistersStats.html , the state with the greatest number of 914s is Texas. Texas even beats California, and not just by a slim margin but by quite a bit. California has 35 pca registered 914s and Texas has 49 pca registered 914s. Don't mess with Texas.

This was surprising to me. The problem with the pca poll, of course it that it only counts pca members. So there could be a whole bunch of 914 members in various states not counted by the pca because they don't want to pay the stupid pca fee and don't need the pretty lame Panarama magazine. I know that I don't need it.

So let's take our own poll. Listed above are the top ten 914 states according to the pca statistics (not in any particular order). I've only listed ten because this BBS only lets me put ten poll choices here. Sorry if I have omitted your fine state. Sorry also to small states like those in New England that may have a high per capita 914 population but because of their relatively small gross population numbers, don't register significantly on the pca list. Sorry also to Canada, the 51st state.

Vote! (Go California!)

The person who runs the SIG lives in Texas. All of the people from Texas know him... he also happens to be a big wig with PCA (sorta).. this is why you see a Texas bias.

Brad,
It would be cool if we could search member profiles by state.

i would find it hard to believe that any state has more 914's than California. I grew up in texas, saw a few, but not too many. moved to socal, then to norcal: they're growing on trees here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

75% of all new 914s sold in the United States were sold in California.

You do not have to be a pca member to register your car with the SIG!

No, just want it to be fair. We are comparing how many 914s there are per state and not how many people own a 914 per state. Right?

The reason there are so many from Texas is because of the MUSR. You must register your car with the SIG to attend this event.

I don't doubt that most registered 914's will be from California. However, even this poll will not be accurate. I know of at least 11 people here in Tulsa with 914's that are not part of this board. I'm sure it's that way in the rest of the states. You may also notice that almost half the 914's registered with the Sig in OK belong to me. I assure you I do not own half of them in the state.

I think its Texas cuz he doesn't let other states register! I have tried 4 times to register on the SIG list and my name doesn't show up, and this is over 5 years! Bah!

We all know the state with the most 914's is Calif so who cares anywho..
