Anybody every replaced the center lines with stainless while the engine was still in?
I did it on my /4 with the engine out and it was a piece of cake. |

It's certainly more of a PITA with everything in, but can be done. Plan on having a couple of %&$!@#! and maybe even a scrapped up knuckle or two.
You almost have the slightly "bend" the new tube as you pass it through the tunnel. Having two people helps a lot. |

I just replace my lines with stainless lines from Chris Foley. I did it with the engine in. I pulled out the shifter and shift rod to give a little more room. Get the car up really high and remove the passenger side rear tire. Once I got the old line out it took me about an hour to snake the new lines in and replace the rubber gromets. I thought it was going to be a real pain but it really was a piece of cake.
Of course this is on a 4. I don't know how much less room you have under a 6. |
