I am reassembling the valve train on my 2.0 (with my new Len Hoffman heads) and I am not sure how the ends of the rockers should go in? They are beveled - do the bevels face toward the head or away? How about the space on the same end - does ths face up or down? Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by bevels, but the split in the pedestal faces down towards the floor as the engine sits in place. The pushrod retainer wire fits into that split.
Hope that helps. |

I believe the beveled edges should face out.

I thought the bevels went to the head side, and I reasoned that it was clearance for the threads.

Found a set that had not been cleaned yet and I could see that the beveled edge faces away from the head -washer mark.

Oh, I see now. My comments were made thinking you were talking about the rod that rides in the mounts. You were talking about the mounts, which yes, should be beveled side out.
