I'm having an intermittent problem with my ignition switch.
Sometimes it starts right up and sometimes I have to
play around with the key and turn it and wiggle it in order for it to turn over. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) I can anticipate not being able to start it at all and would be very thankful for any ideas as to the problem
and/or the solution.

This board has been very helpful and I know someone has experienced the same thing in the past.

I have a '76 2.0 w/FI.

thanks

john

First places to check and fairly easyare teh grounds . One by the battery another down below the relay board, not sure if there ias any connection in that one to the ignition system, the other and one of the usual culprits is the body to trans strap.
I would clean them or replace the straps completely. They can build up a resistance on the inside of the straps that you won't see. For $5.00 each it is just easier to replace.
