Newbie here i race of road buggies and my buggy suposibly has a 914 box but has a VW stamp on it. IS THIS POSSIBLE?? and how can i tell
Also what info is out there regarding this box?? CHEERS AND THANX |

Just got the numbers off the box!!
Back of box 914.301.301.1 side 914.301.101.00 side of diff 914.301.311.02 Cheers Please Help |

Don't worry, VW made the box, but it's still a mid-engined version of the Porsche 901, and the gear sets and internals are mostly interchangeable.

Yes the VW logo is mostly just a foundry mark.
The important number is on the bottom; the serial # is on the lowest rib under the diff section. This helps determine the version: 914/6, 914/4 tailshift, 914/4 sideshift. |
