Woah, it's sure going to surprize some hotrodders. I love those fenders, didn't

notice until they mentioned it.

The SuperBeetle has a front suspension layout very similar to 914. Why go to all trouble of putting body on a "pan" which really isn't a pan. I'd rather just take the Superbeetle chassis/pan, and graft the mid-engine arrangment. Neat idea, but I don't see the economy of time or effort using the method described.

I love the translation. Look at this:
"the impression, which one makes on the Auobahn on the pilots of fast cars, is also like that without example"

Andy,

I don't post anything about it here because this is 914 stuff, but something some might be interested in is my 1303 4x4 project. The Super has been lifted 4", longer trainling arms, full fenders sort of like a class 11 style. Looks stock, has 28" all-terain tires on 2.0 Fuchs. Looks really good and agressive. I am still trying to source out some of the parts for the 4x4 conversion.

VW Bus Syncro trans will be the hardest. My goal is to make it something the factory might have done like they did in the 40's with the military VW units.

Fun Stuff! Thanks for sharing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

this guy didn't built these cars !!

he just bought them once - btw, he doesn't own the 914-8 any longer

the 914-8 is the car from the DGVWPB
the Bug is one of the famous "Nordstadt Käfer", built at the VW-Dealer Nordstadt from Hannover
they planed to build 20 cars, but had to quit early due to the horrable costs of this project - AKAIK there are only 2 existing original "Nordstadt Käfer"

the same Dealer built a VW Golf I with a Porsche 928 engine ...

Have you ever seen Dave LaTourette's 1966 VW 4x4 Rally Bug?
