I've seen ads on ebay and here for the new oversize speaker boxes that will take 6.5 round speakers. Has anyone used them? I'm afraid I had holes cut in my otherwise very nice tan door panels, but would try to find some new panels if the speaker boxes are any good. Please let me know at jtb3@chorus.net. Thanks

I just got mine in the mail yesterday.
The pic kinda looks like the speaker holes are already cut, but they aren't... you will have to cut the hole yourself. However, they are made REALLY well and look really good. I would highly recommend them. My PLAN is to do the following... **6.5 inch COMPONENT speakers in the new kick panels **component tweeters on the doors near the window crank **6 inch bass tube mounted high up under the pass side dash. Its gonna sound BAD ASS!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

So you got JUST the kick panel enclosures?
On the sub woofer he has one that mounts in the center console....did you get that as well or if you didn't why not? Do the gauges mount over the top of the sub woofer? |

We left these uncut so any size of speaker up to a 6.5" could be installed in them. Tech note: These do sound better if you stuff the back of them with polyfil.
The guages can be put in the subwoofer console we make, but you have to put all the wiring for the guages in through the speaker hole, we would just mount the subwoofer lower in the console allowing for the customer to put holes in it for guages. |

No we don't, we have had at least 20 customers do this on their own, thats a good idea, we might ask one of our customers for a pic. If I can get a pic, I'll post it.

I haven't got the speaker panels yet, BUT I did buy the sub-woofer box from them, and there's room for 2 guages above and to each side of the speaker, but it would be tough to get 3 guages in there.
And I muct say he gaveme an EARFUL of audio tuning advice for his setup, very helpful. Also, I bought a decent 200watt Panasonic CD player and with the subwoofer and little 3x5" speakers in the stock panels it sounds AMAZING! I can easily live with it sounding like this until I get a few extra $$ to buy the panels. If I did it again I'd buy the WHOLE setup w/speakers, in the end you'll be way ahead. Robert O ---I'll post pictures of my subwoofer w/guages later if this thread is still going. |

Right, here's your picture.
See, I doubt you could squeeze a third guage in there, but if you picked the two most important ones you're okay. I mounted my guages a smidge high tho- the bulb holders are smashing up against the top of the box inside because of the angle. But it fits well and sounds friggen great! Robert O Attached image(s)
