Looks good. |

We needed to roll the fenders a little. Not too much. It looks very nice.

I'm running 205/55's because the 50's I had before were a little too stiff... I think the car LOOKS better with the 55's. They fill the fender well fully. I didn't have to roll the lips or make any changes to the car. The 205/55's fit just right with my stock 4lug fuchs. I was also concerned with speedo accuracy. Not that I'm ever going THAT fast... but it's nice to know you don't think you're going 80 when you're really only going 50. Also, because of gearing... going with too low of a profile may be counter productive if you intend to drive twisties very much.
As a side note, at some point I intend to go to 225/50-17's, but that will have to wait until I get my fender flares... and a few other upgrades. |

205s can look 'bulgy/balloney' on 5.5" rims and may even feel squirmy in corners. mine did. once the new tires are mounted and on the car they become used tires. you're not looking at a whole lot wider tire when compared with 195/60s or 65s which usually have 0 fitment issues.

finding good grippy tires in 195 is a bit more of a pain than in 205

I just put 16x7's on the rear (fronts are next) with 205/55's. The tire to fender lip clearance on the passenger side was so close that I couldn't even fit my finger tips in there. But, it did not rub... pretty amazing. I rolled the lips anyway using a 1" delrin dowel to make sure it wouldn't rub.

What are options for wider wheels? I would prefer 15" and "correct," like Pedrini, Fuchs or Mahle.

If you search for the words "tire size" you get 28 pages of results. All saying essentially the same thing.
