Lets get organized!
Sept 12, 2009! Blackstain has asked that his address not be posted on a public area of the forum, in order to keep the bots from finding it. So: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=97941 Click on that link to get his address and phone number (if you get lost). The password is "ecc" But now, lets all help Type47 prep for the ECC, coming up in the Fall of 2009! Who is bringing what list:

I'd like to be the 1st to volunteer my domicile for the 2009 ECC. I live in New Market VA & my house is right on the Shenandoah river. I have 3+ acres & a very large, flat area right by the river that would be perfect for camping, bonfires, a cookout & a nice little 914 concours. My neighborhood is adjacent to the New Market Battlefield so there are both hotel & restaurant options. There are many excellent roads in the area for a nice little drive around before the cookout, with a couple of straightaways that are mega fun when "Johnny Law" is not around (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . I am however, south of the Mason-Dixon line so some "Blue Bellies" might object, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) , but I think it would be a fine location for the event. Let me know.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) This location sounds killer. What else is out there. I know some others of you have suggested things to me, but during the party when I *may not* have been operating on all 4 cylinders. Zach |

There's a swimming hole 100 yrds through the woods that the local high school kids seem to enjoy very much. They always cut through my yard to get there. I also see canoes going down stream quite often. Again, the neighborhood is right next to the battlefield & museum, which is the reason there are hotels here. The roads here are a blast & "Johnny law" has yet to catch me enjoying myself (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) . Luray Caverns is 17 miles east & another great drive over Massanutten Gap. To the south is Harrisonburg & JMU. Very peaceful country so we should be able to make some noise w/out disturbing anyone. Why not a little concours as well? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, a location off I-81 is quite convenient. And maybe it can be closer to Halloween next year!

My rents have a place in New Paltz, NY, about 1.5 hrs up the NY Thruway from the NJ border, probably could convince them to let us use that. Lots of great roads up that way, but probably too far for the southern VA contigent? They have 11 acres, 2/3rds are probably wooded. Plenty of space for cars and camping.
Just another (potential) option. Let me know if you want me to pursue it. I cannot plan the whole thing, grad school is kicking my ass. -Chris |

would you guys consider Cumberland, Maryland - We have an autocross everymonth from May to October - the autocross guys they could put 20 spots aside. WE do it at the airport - you could camp there but they dont have electric but do have plenty of porta-potties. On Saturday night - they have a really nice picnic at a corvette guys house that has about 30-40 vettes. you can look up the autocross info and history on www.nationalroadrally.com
The autocross usually has 3-4 heats and you always get 5 runs sometimes 6 - there are normally 85 to 100 cars running Sat and Sunday. WE could set other stuff up like the parade or a road rally if you are really interested. Bill |

Just a reminder that I am still looking for someone to step up and run the show for next year.
I am pretty much done with my "easy" MBA classes, and homework time is increasing. Work is becoming more interesting as I start hunting for promotions. I'd like to see the ECC continue, but to do that it needs a leader to keep people focused. I'm not sure that I will have the time to commit to it this year. Who is willing? Also we have three excellent options open right now for location. (miles are from Baltimore simply because I consider that a good midpoint that most folks can relate to) 1) Blackstain's farm in New Market Va (152 miles from Baltimore) 2) Chris's parents farm in New Paltz, NY. (261 miles from Baltimore) 3) Cumberland Historics (Cumberland Airport, MD) (146 miles from Baltimore) Do we have any other options for event hosts? Zach |

I like New Market or Cumberland, since both of those locations are near Hagerstown. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

For what it's worth I'm still up for hosting it. I however, have no clue as to what exactly I would need to do. I'd presume, not assume (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) , aranging food, booze, portapoties & to scout out the best road tour around?
