Okay,
So now that I'm mounting a front oil cooler. What would be the best oil pump to run? I have a couple stock pumps and a melling. Is the melling sufficient? Also, I'm considering relocating the oil filter. Right now, I'm looking at the remote filter assembly from Summit, but I'm open to suggestions. Anyone? This will be on a mild 2.0L-4 that will see occasional daily driving and more frequent track/autox use. Since the bulk of this work is going to have to happen in short order, and soon, I'd like to pull the trigger on parts pretty soon. Real world suggestions? Experiences? Jake? -Josh2 |

The melling has a steel body and is a proven POS.
Get a schadek 30mm pump plugged for full flow and use a steel cover. A bug shop will have the filter adaptor at a better price than summit. This type of pump will require you to drill and tap the 5 large oil galleys for NPT plugs or you run the risk of a blow out. You also must modify the right engine mount. |

FWIW... The billet adapter from Summit is far better than the cast POS.
