Can a passenger side motor mount be mounted on the drivers side? and if not why? has anyone tried this?

If you are talking about the "pods" welded to the body (it common to have a rusted one on the passenger side), those are mirror image stamped and welded assemblies. You can’t swap those left to right. If you are talking about the hardware then those are the same left to right.
