Someone, I forgot who, asked me to post this info, pics., etc., on my new third brake light.

All is amounts to is the installation of a Chevy Corvette, cira 1980's, I think, stock third brake light on the engine lid of one of my four 914s. The light has 4 halogen lamps, bright as heck.

Here's a few sequential installation pictures:

The LAST PIC. (Not directly related to the subject).

Doesn't the Euro tail lens look great with Signal Orange?

Foot note:

I bought 3 of these brake lights cheap on eBay some years ago. Red, Black ane White. I used the red one for the Signal Orange car. The other two are hanging around in my stash. I want to evaluate the on the road before I commit to installing the other two.

Very Cool! I have the same thing on mine. Much better than the interior one. These are Halogen lights and there is a gasket between the lamp and the body. The contour matches almost perfectly. Very bright lights.

I also have a stash of these lights if anyone is interested.

I`m thinking of putting a third light in my spoiler, but these are to big. I really like the caddy led one,I think it will fit all the way across.

Z - yep same thing you got it from me.

You have to drill three holes in the lid - two for screws, one for the wire.

EMGMAN, you are exactly correct.

Here's what my inspiration for Liz's car has been, except without flares and
Signal Orange instead of red. Another month or two, it will be on the road.
