OK, all of a sudden when I save a photo from a site, it saves it in Bitmap (.bmp) format instead of .jpg format.
What's going on? I rather save them in .jpb as it is a smaller file size. How do I change this? Thanks, Paul |

When I do it there is a drop down menu that lets me choose between .jpg and .bmp.

This sounds crazy, but your alotment of temporary internet files is full. Within your browser, go to tools, internet options.
Under temporary internet files, press the 'delete files' button. It may take 5 or 10 minutes to finish. You may need to close and restart your browser. You should now be able to save as jpg again. Demick |

'course, it doesn't have this problem, either ... |

So let me get this straight... when your disk cache gets full IE makes you save pictures in a format that takes ~20 times more disk space. Brilliant! (I know. Disk space and alloted cache space are not directly correlated, but it's still stupid.)

I don't think it is a 'feature', but rather a bug - but it's been around for many years. Demick |
