Is it time for a Group Buy and unify all the peeps? Believe me, I'm not trying to cause a ruckus.

I put in a bid. Not surprised, and quite hilarious.

It'd be nice to get rid of the two forums thing. Perhaps a commnity acquisition and then a merger into 914world.

My one issues is 914world is run on perl on a windows host, which is why you see it go down so often.

I can provide unix hosting on a T1, and have unix boxes of various flavors in colocation on an even better circuit.

One world, one forum, reliable military grade SUN hardware and UNIX.

Probably when the place had a for profit feel, I mean i posted there a few times and instantly came here based on the feeling I got after posting.

I can understand wanting to make a buck, but I am here for 914's and the community not Brad Roberts pocketbook or his adventures in motorsports and such.

It really seemed to be based around Brad Roberts, could easily be Brad Roberts club.com

I use several forums depending on the time I have to read and post. I have gotten good info from Brads site and will keep using it. Personally I don't have a problem with a person trying to make a buck doing the stuff he or she likes. I wish I could. I just feel I only have enough time for my projects from here on out.

With all due respect, you have no idea of the history of these two forums. You may want to ratchet it back a bit.

I'll buy the domain name for 250$. I made my offer.

I stated factual observations from a "newbie"

They are what they are. I'm not here to argue about past things that do not involve me. Maybe that will clarify where I am coming from more.

Can you recall the last time it went down?

Not once since we got the new server ... That's a 0 with a capital Z ...

PS: And it's not Perl. Never was Perl. Never will be Perl.

If the club.com URL is for sale, we should raise capital and buy it. it would be really nice to have everyone under one roof again.

Our two spaces are still pretty much blood brothers, if not estranged twins, anyhow.

Doesn't really serve a purpose, most everyone is here anyway. No need for multiple domain names.

I would pitch in to buy it to shut it down and incorporate the good parts here...if they arent already here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I have no issue with the club, I just dont see its purpose. Be a lumper, not a splitter!

What would Howie do?

I'm sure he would buy it and turn it into a porn site with images of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif) & his S.O.

Pretty much what I was thinking.

I know he tried to mend fences. This made me think of him.
