Surfing the exotic car dealers nearby and came across this beauty in the scrolling banner on the home page of Grand Prix Imports. It's not listed in the inventory so maybe a past sale or maybe the owner's car? Has anyone local seen the car or know the story?

I heard from Ali Tarzaban at GP Imports. He gave me permission to post the following description and the attached pictures. His original response was:

That Porsche 914-6 was a vehicle we got in on a massive vehicle to motorhome trade back in January of 06. It was a crazy built up 914-6 that had a Porsche RSR motor in it. I’ve attached a few images for you to look at. We sold in March of 06 to a gentleman in Texas.

He later followed that up with the for sale blurb:

Attention Porsche people. This is the wildest 1970 Porsche 914-6 we've
seen come available for sale. It started out originally as a 914-6 and
we have the original maintenance record book, all the original
registrations on this California car and a huge stack of receipts
totaling $113,622.39 for all the work that's gone into this little
monster, not including the price of the vehicle itself.
The vehicle started out as a 1970 Porsche 914-6, went through a couple
of rounds of upgrades, culminating into the wildest non-turbo powered
914-6 you're likely to find.

Let's start out with the body. The body has gone through a complete
tear-down and rebuild from the ground up. Factory GT Flares were
butt-welded on, no lapse or rust, and then the vehicle was outfitted
with a roll cage that was welded onto the frame at Lakeman Chassis so
the car could accommodate the extra power the new motor was going to put
down. The entire vehicle was then repainted top to bottom with all
components removed for a clean finish.

The engine started out as a 3.8 Liter Porsche 993 RS Motor, it went
through a comprehensive rebuild in the summer of 2002 for the total cost
of $14,905.91. At that time, the vehicle showed 27268 miles and Jerry
Woods Porsche engines in Campbell, CA performed all the work. The
odometer shows 36254 now. We have a dyno sheet showing 318.9 HP at the
wheels in 2002. In a 2600 lb car, the acceleration is truly amazing. The
miles are unknown because of the different engines that have been in
this vehicle.

The transaxle is sourced from the same 993 RS Porsche, which is a rear
engine vehicle. The 914-6 is a mid-engine vehicle and required some
modifications to fit the 914-6 chassis. This was done with custom
aluminum castings and modifications to the shift linkage. The CV Joints
were upgraded to 930 Turbo specs to accommodate the extra horsepower.
The quality of work could be mistaken for a factory vehicle.

Weight distribution on this car is an amazing 43/57 which is ideal for a
track/sports car. Not only has the motor been upgraded, but the brakes
have been given the same treatment with large Porsche Turbo Calipers and
Cross Drilled Rotors. The wheels are 3-piece 17x8 front and 17x9 Porsche
RS Style.

The final assembly of the vehicle is absolutely phenomenal, the
carpeting's is first class, the seats are in great shape, the body work
and paint is near to flawless. Absolutely every bit of this car is first
class. Give us a call, this one will not last.
