Just looking for A/C solutions on the web and typed in "914 A/C Kit"
A link popped up to: http://www.gilmore-enterprises.net/GH/index.htm Their website says they are working on an A/C kit for the 914. When you look at other systems and pictures, they even have a picture and reference to Jake Raby, under the VW Bus section. Just wondering if anyone knows of these guys and what types of solutions they may offer for our cars. How do they compare to the competition? BTW; I'm also looking into Vintage, Hot Rod Air and ICE... Thanks, Jason |

I am in the process of getting an AC system installed in my car. I bought components from a local hot rod shop. They sell on the internet as SouthernRods.com. Sanden compressor, a remote condensor unit with fan, and a small evaporator for inside. I had a compressor mount from an old parts car which I modified to accept the new Sanden compressor. The evaporator fits nicely under the dash. I fabricated a mount and air duct for the condenser in the front trunk, similar to older aftermarket systems. Biggest problem was running the hoses from the rear to the front. Once I get it working, I will post photos and details. I think the total cost of new components was about $700 or so, but I need to add it up. I need to get it working, since it was 101 degrees here today. Good luck, JoeO
