You might have some trouble with the police if it reflects. White lights to the rear are illegal unless they are backup lights and your actually in reverse. I got pulled over twice in a pantera when the backup lights were stuck on. That was twice in a ten mile drive. I pulled the wires off the trans after the second time. I told the 2nd cop that they were now fixed and asked if he could sign off the first ticket. He declined. I guess they actually have to work when you put it in reverse. Yes this is true any lense or tape can only reflect red, when talking about cars. Do the taillights reflect at all on the part that used to be red. The original red ones do reflect red.
