73 914 w/ 74 2.0 dual weber 40's. finally sorted out the linkage problem and car starts right up , idles a little rough @ about 1000 rpms. decided to take a little spin before balancing the carbs. no such luck, clutch (which is new) won't engage in any gear, just grinds and the engines revs up to about 2000 when the clutch is dpressed, now i'm depressed. never touched the center tunnel when i switched the engine out, clutch and accellerator cables are the same. could they be croosed or tangled somewhere?

wow i knew a giy named dr. evil back in the day, but he chose saving lives over saving rusted out v.w's. i told leo (remember him) he has eight kids, goes on golf outings and wears a suit to work now, you might have some free time after the 5th and he wants to have a bbq for you, if he can't i will, of course i want you to come up, screw the car,we,ll hang out. I am a free man after the 5th so any time is good for me pretty much. I love the BBQ and I can solve all of your problems (car) in a day most likely. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If "Leo the Breeder" can make it, all the better.

Maybe I'll do an over night so I can get real drunk and surly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
