I'll be at PIR Friday through Sunday for the annual Rosecup races ...

Look for the mean looking green 911 with black decals, #49 ...

Schwing by the pits and say hello! I might not have much time to chat, after all we're there to win, but it's always nice to see some fellow 914 worlders ...

Well, we had "mixed" results ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Friday:
Friday morning started off good enough, warmup went without trouble and the car ran great.

Then during practice, we were hit by another car in the drivers side rear. The fender was pushed all the way in and ate into the tire. The wheel got bend and the alignment was way off.

For a while, we thought we were done, especially since it initially looked like we were going to be disqualified.

We fixed the damage while waiting for the final word from the officials. I did some creative metal work on the fender (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) , threw on the set of spare wheels and realigned the car.

The officials ruled the other guy at fault and we barely made it out for the qualifying session which determines our position for the Saturday race.
We qualified second for Sat.

Saturday:
After the warmup session, Tom complained about "mushy" brakes. I jacked the car up and removed the front wheels only to find the front rotors to be cracked all over the place. 100s of cracks. Not good!
Luckily, we had a brand new set of rotors in the trailer so i swapped out the front rotors.

During the race, we started to lose 3rd gear, it would not stay and pop out. Tom finished the race by holding 3rd gear in place with his right hand, but we dropped down to 5th place.

After the race, we decided to skip Sunday, call it a weekend, pack up and get an early start driving back home.
