Why not publish the classifieds as an RSS feed. That way I can subscribe to the classifieds via my favorite RSS news reader and see new items pop up more conveniently than always having to come to the site and checking.

RSS 2.0 or something.

It's pretty easy, when a new ad comes in write out a new static file in RSS format and provide a link in the classifieds section.

It's read only so there can be no abuse.

Olav,

we send out a email every time somebody lists something new in classifieds. It is up to the users to turn this function on. It sends you every new post and the description with a link to the actual post in case they posted pics. I have only looked at the classifieds 8-10 times over the last 14 months. I'm usually scanning them for porn pics otherwise I see every post thru email. It is called "email notification" and you can even "watch" certain area's of the classifieds and not all the sub topics.

I like your idea, but it appears we are already doing something similar.
