I was test fitting my doors before painting them and noticed this:

Yours looks easy to fix.
Your door is too low at the back. You can see this in the lines at the top and bottom. Try raising your striker plate at bit and put some shims under your bottom door hinge. You might want to try a washer between the hinge and the pillar just to test this theory. Raising your door (at the back) will increase the gap at the bottom and hopefully close it a bit at the top. |

Doug, was this in reply to my problem? I'm confused, but hopeful... If I put shims under the bottom door hinge (between the hinge and the body of the car, correct?), won't that push the door farther "back" and thereby close the gap even further? I can see your point about lifting the bottom of the door this way, but it seems like this would close the gap at the bottom of the door. |
