Yours looks easy to fix.
Your door is too low at the back. You can see this in the lines at the top and bottom. Try raising your striker plate at bit and put some shims under your bottom door hinge. You might want to try a washer between the hinge and the pillar just to test this theory. Raising your door (at the back) will increase the gap at the bottom and hopefully close it a bit at the top. |

Doug, was this in reply to my problem? I'm confused, but hopeful... If I put shims under the bottom door hinge (between the hinge and the body of the car, correct?), won't that push the door farther "back" and thereby close the gap even further? I can see your point about lifting the bottom of the door this way, but it seems like this would close the gap at the bottom of the door. |

I can see your point about lifting the bottom of the door this way, but it seems like this would close the gap at the bottom of the door. Stop thinking like a house door. Your problem is simple....raise the whole door about 1/8 of an inch. First.... remove the inner panel...adjust the main front window track so its tipping out at the top...it wont fit when we are done as it is and you could break something...so please follow this advice. There is an adjuster on the bottom of the door....tip the front window track away from the centerline of the car....alot. Go all the way to the end of the adjustment for the moment. Then, close the door...feel the top of the fender versus the top of the door right at the front...the door is lower than the fender. Loosen the hinges and raise the door up about 1/8 of an inch..tighten it and test you door gap...dont worry about the window. As you raise the door, the lower door gap will get wider based upon the geometry. You want the part everyone sees...the door gap and the top of the rear edge of the door to be perfect....most people wont see the front, they will see the back. Once that ir right...go adjust your window slowly back into place. Rich |
