has anyone installed the high flow cone intake filter in place of the factory air filter unit? Was it worth it in performance (daily or track)?

I did it, I did a major overhaul of the engine and the big 2.0 airbox is just in the way when you want to fiddle with the engine, I installed a K&N cone filter to have more access to the engine and the plan was to change back to the huge airbox when the engine was tuned.

When the engine was back in the car I drove it without the back window and the engine lid, wow! At 4000 rpm and above its just goes WRRRRRRROOOOOOMMMM (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) , the intake is about 2 feet from your right ear and the feel is race-ish, more power? I don't think so! Maybe it revs a little bit more aggressive above 5000 rpm, but with a stock type 4 you don't want to be in that area to much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

With the window and engine lid (with the raintray) back on the car the soundlevel is acceptable, I still drive with the filter and love the sound of the engine, but don't expect more power
