So I want to get a fresh block and rebuild a 2270 street engine. I have always loved the look of horizontal fans and would really like to integrate this into the build.
I have seen a few, (even an electric one) but which would be recommended? Would it be worth looking into building a 90 degree coupling? (or would it be too power sapping) - I have access to lots of billet and machinery, so If anyone has done such a thing I would be very interested to see what you have done. Anybody running a HF in a Fourteener? Would love to see pics if so. Thanks in advance. |

Chris uses a modifed Corvair horizontal fan.
Search on the internet for the Corvair fan setup. Check the two or three German tuners that specialize in type4 motors. (look at tunacans type 4 secrets links page) and you should find a setup that is still being sold. If you want to make it yourself, look for a 90 degree industrial gearbox...McMaster Carr and MSC have them. Not that I have thought about this.....(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
