I'm in the process of shopping for a lift.
The question of 2 or 4 post has come up. A 4-post will fulfill my needs (mostly storage and some work), but I'm not sure if a 914 and 356 motor can be dropped between the 32" gap in the middle. Any ideas/experiences on engine drops with a 4-post lift? Thanks. |

Update, I talked with a fellow 914 owner that has a BendPak HD-9 with adjustable rails. He said he has no problem dropping his engine when they are spread wider than 36" and is still able to drop when they are at 36" (just takes some more work). Thanks to all for the details and opinions!
