Screw that! If you can direct cooler dense air directly into your motor instead of sucking hot air from around the engine compartment what do you get ... MORE POWER! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)
I recall seeing an artical way in the past in EC (or perhaps it was still VW& Porsche) of a 914 drop top conversion that had side vents. They extended out the mold of the door handle scallop until it ended in an elipse/hole into the engine bay. Painted that area black and it looked ...factory! Figure in the oem airbox fitted with an additional reversed intake horn w/ hose to those vents ...WALA! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Im going to see if I can come up with that issue.
