I was reading this article about the 914 successor. It seems as though that won't be happening anymore. However, after reading some of the comments some of the people made about porsche, the main arguer compared the 911 to 2 other cars and the cayman s to 1 car, is this a fair comparison.

here is the article if you want to read the argument that went on, i thought it was funny the way the guy argues but has never driven a 911. I have never driven one but im pretty sure itll beat out a camaro anyday...in styling, longetivity, and reliablity

Porsche 914 successor not coming due to financial crisis

Here is the comparison the guy made

You know what these cars are comparable I hope I don't insult you to much by comparing the Cayman S with the Camaro SS and the 911 with the C6 corvette.
Cayman S/Camaro SS
$60,200/$30,995
320hp/422hp
2976lb/3593lb
8:25ring time (8:10.08 with ceramic brakes)/8:19 ring time
18city26hwy mpg/16city25hwy mpg

911 Carrera S/C6 Corvette coupe
$87,000/$49,515
385hp/430hp
3131lbs/3217lbs
7:59/7:59
19city/26hwy mpg, 16city/26hwy mpg

911 GT2, ZR1 Corvette
$194,000/$104,920
530hp/638hp
3175lbs/3352lbs
7:31/7:26.4
16city 23hwy mpg/14city 20hwy mpg

And there you go, a fair unbiased argument showing that Porsche Charges double.

The problem with some of these "news" articles is that they are conjunture with "Factory Sources" which means as much as what is bantered about here.

Personally, I feel that the BlueSport is the "next" spiritual successor to the 914, remember the 914 was a VW / Porsche in Europe.

Also with VW & Porsche stating that there will be platform sharing to save costs, there is no telling what they will bring out.

. . . and the photo of the 914 they use for their 'news' article is a 1:18 scale Revell model.
