I am pulling the heads on my 1911. I want to make sure I do this correctly, as I will be putting it back together.
I have removed the fan shroud and the tin. I have removed the rocker arms, push rods and the springs that hold the tubes in place. Push rod tubes and lifters are still in place. Can I leave the push rod tubes in place and pull them with the head? Or do I pull them first? Is there any special order to remove the nuts that hold on the head? I've already hit them with penetrant. Let me know. TIA. |

It doesn't matter if you remove the push rod tubes before or after removing the heads. I personally think its easier if you remove them after.
It also doesn't matter which order you remove the nuts. |
