The back section of the cable went bad--swelled up and broke the sheath. I have a 75 and the cable goes to the ERG. I've jacked up the rear, removed the pass seat and carpeting over the tunnel.
I assume the cable is pulled from the rear and the opening in the firewall is large enough to pull the attaching ring through as well. Was going to attach some string to the cable. Is there anything more to this ? |

Thanks for the tip...time to get dirty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Follow up: This was pretty easy. Ran the speedo-cable directly to speedometer instead of the EGR. That way the slack was reduced by 2 1/2 feet. The needle response is very smooth. And while I was there....... |
