I'm thinking of picking up a spare targa to restore while I drive my car. I have a '75, but the targa I'm looking at is I believe a '72. Will the early targas fit on a late car and vise versa or do I need to get a late one?? Also what's the year break between the two tops?? Thanks.

I thought there was a couple of small changes in the tops that happened the same time the 914 door window updates happened?
Rear latch, pad and something else...seals? That might have been 74'? |

That would make sense. I think the tops are still interchangeable, but perhaps do not seal as well? Of course I can't remember the last time I drove with the top on. |
