In my infinite newbie wisdom, I decided to take my '73 2.0 out for a slow spin around the block after replacing the master cylinder but BEFORE replacing the pedal board. Still needed to make some final brake plunger fine adjustments don't ya know. Well it seemed like a good idea at the time... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
As a result I got to experience the 'fun' of testing the brakes AND dealing with a stuck wide open throttle at the same time. Believe me, it's not as much fun as it sounds. Good thing the brakes passed the QA check... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Anyhow the engine seems fine as I got the ignition off quickly but now my accelerator cable has a slight grinding feel to it when I operate the pedal. My question is what signs of damage should I check for in the throttle system as a result of the over-travel condition? |

QUOTE if you disconected the acc. pedal cable when doing the master cyl., it may have gotten wrapped around the clutch cable (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) OR Bent pivot on the pedal cluster! |
