Hiya. just got finished returning my bosch 09171 plug wire set because it will not fit. I hav heard that superbeetle or typr 3 w/fi will work. For them I get two bosch part numbers 9001 and 9004. Does anyone know if either or both work? How about beru? TIA

QUOTE(garyh @ Mar 15 2004, 11:39 AM) Beru is the OE for Porsche; the quality is much higher than the Bosch parts. Have you ever looked at the comments about Beru wires on the PP 911 BBS? People hate them there. I took apart a 911 set once and was not impressed with the way they are constructed. They have little fuse-shaped resistors inside that are held in with springs, and the connections can get dirty and cause the wires to show very high resistance. (Basically an open circuit.) This can cause misfiring. I never was able to pin any misfiring down to the wires, so YMMV. |
