been doing lots and lots of research and I recently bought a 2.0L core engine to start building... The engine included a set of italian weber 40s... If i push the engine out to 2056 or possibly to 2.2 will i not have enough fuel from the weber 40s? should i start looking for 44s?

yup, stay with 40s for a 2056. If you build the 2270 you may need to go to 44s, depending. I have read of folks using 40s just fine on the 2.3, but I think that you leave some top end power on the table. If you build your engine to spin at a stock redline, the 40s would probably be fine.
