Hello group,

The semi-circular piece of tin that sits vertically at the rear of the engine compartment seems to have been "modified" by the non-too subtle use of a lump hammer on the half-round swage about a third of the way in from each end. Does every 914 have this?

probably not normal! the stock tin is a smooth curve, no rough lumps, it was stamped nicely. not aware of why someone would modify it however. engine bays sealing is important for cooling so make sure this modification did not compromise the tins sealing edges.

have fun
