Hello everyone, I am a newbie and I am fortunate to find all of you here at this forum to share ideas. I just picked up a 914 with a 1.7 engine. there has been some work done to this babe previously. the gas pedal was stock, I removed it and order a new one from pelicanparts.
I am not sure that the previous owner installed it correctly. I have been looking at some pics and I am more confused than ever. the cross bar is installed facing the front of the car. I have seen some facing the back. for me to make it face the back means that I would have to flip the carbs i think, wiich seens to be the correct eay considering the lenght of the old cable. can anyone help with some pictures. I didn't realize you were putting all of your eggs in one basket. I forgot about this and didn't get a pic taken of my setup. However, there are hundreds of pictures on this site of carb linkage setups. Search is your friend. You'll see pics in these threads with the linkage at the front of the carbs and the back. You can do it either way as I said before. You just have to get creative about how you run the cable and setup the linkage.
