As an aside - VW Taureg & Porsche Cayenne are shared platform & parts bin vehicles, the latter of which (along with the Pano) are booking the bulk of PAG's sales - far outpacing the Boxster/Cayman & 911s/et al series!
Sound familiar!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) It should, since our 914s did the same for Porsche in the 70's! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Consumer Reports rate the later ones very well, as with the VW - but I agree with Krusty, if it's a DD & you don't need the high-end Porsche for your ego or to impress customers - then go with the VW! .... just IMHO, but not an owner, just know a few others who are.
