I was able to figure out the day and number durring that day that my car was made!
Door jam number is 4139258 which converts to the 41st week of the year manufactured 3rd day of the week manufactured 92 is the plant number of manfuacture and 58th car that day! That converts to Oct 12th or the 285th day of 1975 and the 58th car off the line that day! Wed is always a good day to have your car made!! |

Doesn't anybody out there WORK...or are we all just reading posts, while faking it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I haven't gotten one bit of work done all day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif) Thanks for all the responses....so far....am still hoping for a few more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I probably should also have been a bit more specific as to reason for the inquiry... George, you are right...my car does not have the door jamb sticker..... As a result, I bought one of yours, but would like to know what month to insert....(It also is missing the badge...that is next on the to do list....) Here's my disclaimer...as I do not profess in any way to be an expert on any of this...the members on this board are wya ahead of me on pretty well every aspect... Thanks, GeorgeRud...611 puts us at February....and from all I can gather, the bulk of 1970 production was in the early 1/2 of 1970, as I am guessing Porsche found themselves oversupplied with 6s, and started slowing down production as the months went on (too bad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ) I went on Aramando's GT site...his car is 1722, and his door jamb sticker is 04/70....I don't think anyone has messed with his sticker, so odds are that his car came off the line in about April RE Jeffs 9146....thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if it works for me, since I am dealing with a fairly early 6....I think Porsche had a different numbering system for the 6s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Re SirAndy...I am sure that the best I am doing is getting close....However, all I am hoping for is close...well, at least...close to the point where I am pretty certain as to month of build.....If the members can help me nail that down, I'll be happier than the pig in poop..... BTW SirAndy....I tried to register my car(s) once, but I am such a tool, it didn't seem to work. I'm plugging away at getting 710 and 1945 back in the running (both 1970 production....)...IF you happen upon this again, could you please contact me or update the VIN records to add these (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Again, thanks to all Paul |
